Team Overview

The Programme Planning community at the Airbus Broughton site (near Chester) is a highly skilled team responsible for planning wing manufacture for all Airbus Commercial aircraft. We ensure Broughton has the capacity and capability to deliver the wing production requirements in accordance with commercial delivery dates.

Working closely with the Operations team, we provide manufacturing build schedules, resource plans, production build reporting, and scenario analysis. Our department supplies senior management with the data needed to make strategic and tactical decisions.

  • Produce and maintain the long‑term Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all products across the Broughton plant, using build rates based on customer demand.
  • Generate scheduling of parts and materials for production, create tactical build plans to optimise short‑term production, and monitor adherence to the build plan while ensuring it is achievable.

How You Will Contribute to the Team

  • Cross‑Functional Orchestration: Act as the central bridge between Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR – aligning planning assumptions, triggering internal/external supply chains, and providing accurate workload and resource pictures needed for costing and staffing.
  • Production & Scenario Optimisation: Drive the MPS by investigating complex scenarios, conducting capacity calculations, building recovery plans, and continuously monitoring demand to refine and optimise production build plans.
  • System & Process Modernisation: Support the rollout of new SAP versions through process definition, user testing, and issue resolution, while leveraging digital planning and data tools (SAP, Qlik, Google) to compile KPIs for business reporting.
  • High‑Visibility Stakeholder Engagement: Present, negotiate, and build strong strategic networks across all levels of the organisation – from the shop floor to senior management – within a diverse and inclusive team that values varied technical perspectives.

About You

  • Education to Degree level in Business, Project Management, Operations or similar subjects.
  • Experience with Master Production Scheduling / Sales & Operations Planning.
  • Experience with SAP and ERP systems is required.

Our Commitment to You

Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part‑time. Tell us at interview about the flexibility you need and we will do our best to accommodate.

As a Disability Confident Employer, Airbus UK will offer an interview to any applicant who considers themselves to have a disability or long‑term condition under the Equality Act 2010 and meets the minimum criteria of the role.

We are committed to equal opportunities for all. We will never ask for any monetary exchange in the recruitment process. Any impersonation should be reported.

Airbus is committed to achieving workforce diversity and creating an inclusive working environment. We welcome all applications irrespective of social and cultural background, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.
