Requirements

• Strong expertise in React JS, including state management, performance optimization, and component-driven architecture.
• Solid understanding of Java Spring Boot microservices architecture and API integration patterns.
• Experience in micro-frontend architectures.
• Familiarity with modern front-end build tools and frameworks.
• Extensive experience in designing enterprise UI architectures for large-scale applications.
• Proven experience with AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, Claude Code, etc.) in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, asynchronous communication, and client-server interaction patterns.
• Experience implementing design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and AWS cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Deep understanding of web performance optimization, security, and accessibility standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive architectural decisions.
• Strong passion for continuous learning and adopting emerging technologies, especially in the AI-assisted development space.
• Ability to balance technical leadership with hands‑on contribution.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the UI architecture strategy for enterprise‑grade applications using React JS and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Establish best practices, design patterns, and coding standards for front‑end development.
• Architect scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly with Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Lead the design of reusable UI components, design systems, and front‑end frameworks to ensure consistency and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with backend architects, product teams, and UX designers across the full software development lifecycle.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to optimize development workflows, improve code quality, and accelerate feature delivery.
• Ensure applications are optimized for performance, scalability, accessibility, and security.
• Guide teams in implementing robust CI/CD pipelines aligned with modern DevOps practices.
• Oversee containerization (Docker) and deployment strategies using Kubernetes (K8s) within AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
• Drive adoption of monitoring, logging, and observability practices for UI and integrated services.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to front‑end engineers and developers across teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled UI Architect for a 6-month+ contract or permanent role based in London on a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in the office. The position is inside IR35 with a day rate of up to £600. We are building enterprise applications using React JS and Java Spring Boot microservices, and we are committed to AI‑driven development practices that improve delivery speed, developer productivity, and code quality.
