The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

As a Director in our Procurement Transformation practice, you will be responsible for leading the growth, shaping and delivery of a broad portfolio of procurement management consulting work.

Responsibilities

  • Advising clients across the full Source-to-Pay lifecycle, including category management, sourcing, supplier management, contracting, purchasing, invoice processing and supplier performance.
  • Bringing a broad understanding of procurement technology, data and digital enablement, including the underpinning IT landscape across Source-to-Contract, Purchase-to-Pay and invoice processing.
  • Developing an informed point of view on the use of AI and agents across procurement, from category strategy and market intelligence through to sourcing, supplier performance, buying channels, invoicing and exception management.
  • Leading complex delivery teams, ensuring effective project mobilisation, governance, quality, commercial control and on-time delivery in line with client outcomes and Capgemini Invent delivery standards.
  • Owning senior client relationships, building trusted advisor status and identifying opportunities to expand our impact.
  • Driving business development through origination, proposal leadership, RFP responses, client pitches, proposition development and executive-level client engagement.
  • Contributing to the continued growth through thought leadership, campaign development, white papers, market propositions, recruitment, coaching and community leadership.

Key Skills and Experience

  • 10-15 years of senior-level procurement consulting experience, ideally gained within a major consulting firm.
  • Proven business development capability, operating at CPO, Director and GBS-level to generate opportunities, lead bids and grow client accounts.
  • Ability to lead complex procurement transformation programmes across multiple sectors and client environments.
  • Experience in multiple sectors: public sector, aerospace and defence, consumer products, retail and life sciences.
  • Deep experience in procurement strategy, transformation, process design and optimisation.
  • Strong track record in procurement cost reduction, value creation and benefits realisation.
  • Specialism in designing procurement operating models, including GBS, shared services, process ownership, governance, capability models and transition roadmaps.
  • Broad understanding of procurement processes across Source-to-Contract, Purchase-to-Pay and invoice processing.
  • Strong understanding of procurement technology and leading procurement solutions, including their capabilities, implementation considerations and role within wider enterprise architecture.
  • A credible perspective on AI, automation and agent‑led procurement transformation.
  • Experience using digital technologies, data‑led insight and automation to support procurement transformation and benefits realisation.
  • Ability to build and lead senior stakeholder relationships, shape executive conversations and convert client challenges into compelling propositions.
  • Strong people leadership experience, with a passion for coaching, developing teams and building capability. CIPS or equivalent professional accreditation would be beneficial.

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience designing procurement category strategies across direct or indirect spend.
  • Experience with supplier relationship management, supplier risk, sustainability‑led procurement, supplier performance and third‑party resilience.
  • Experience building market‑facing propositions around procurement transformation, GBS, digital procurement, AI‑enabled procurement or Source‑to‑Pay optimisation.

  • Passion for procurement transformation in a digital world, with curiosity about what is next.
  • Ability to identify business issues, develop innovative and compelling solutions, and convert these into client proposals.
  • Strong track record of successful and profitable delivery in demanding project environments.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently across Capgemini, client organisations and third‑party partners.
  • Shows professionalism, flexibility and resilience in situations involving ambiguity, changing priorities or shifting client needs.
