This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Flood Risk Consultant, Principal Engineer, or Flood Risk Specialist looking to step into an Associate-level leadership role. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-profile flood risk, flood alleviation, climate resilience, and water management projects across Northern Ireland, Ireland, and the wider UK, while helping to grow and develop a successful multidisciplinary team.Our client is a leading global engineering and environmental consultancy with a strong presence across the UK and Ireland. Your new role
As an Associate within the Flood Risk Management team, you will:
- Lead the delivery of complex flood risk and water management projects from inception through to completion.
- Manage project teams, budgets, programme delivery, and client relationships.
- Provide technical leadership across flood risk assessments, catchment studies, flood alleviation schemes, hydraulic modelling and climate resilience projects.
- Support business development activities, tender submissions and framework opportunities.
- Mentor and develop engineers and consultants across the team.
- Collaborate closely with specialists in water, environmental, planning and infrastructure disciplines.
- Represent the business with key public and private sector clients.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
- Chartered status (or working towards chartership) through ICE, CIWEM or equivalent.
- Significant experience in flood risk management, flooding and drainage, catchment management or hydraulic modelling.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and managing client relationships.
- Strong understanding of UK and Irish flood risk policy, legislation and best practice.
- Experience using industry-standard hydraulic and hydrological modelling software.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A commercial mindset with an interest in business development and team growth.
