Role Overview
At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, we have the opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacist to join our workforce at Peterborough City Hospital. This static post offers the opportunity to further develop clinical skills across a wide range of specialties within the Women and Child area, including general paediatrics, paediatric oncology, paediatric rheumatology, paediatric high‑dependency, neonatal intensive care, antenatal and postnatal obstetrics, gynaecology and breast care.
Key Responsibilities
- Take professional responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the designated (CBU) / Specialty area and associated clinical areas and wards.
- Act as line manager as shown in the organisational structure chart.
- Provide expert clinical and service information to the pharmacy senior management team to support departmental operational service development and strategic planning.
- Develop guidelines, policies, PGDs, formulary reviews and ensure appropriate use of high‑cost drugs.
- Provide training of pharmacy staff rotating through the area and training of nursing, midwifery and medical staff.
Professional Development
Work to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS) Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum. In March 2023, Health Education England agreed this curriculum as equivalent to their Multiprofessional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice.
