Maintenance Electrician (Surrey & Merton)
The Maintenance Electrician position in Surrey requires a skilled professional to deliver electrical services across commercial contracts, including civic buildings, Wimbledon Tennis Club, libraries, community centres, fire stations, schools, and offices. This temporary role offers a salary of £43,000 to £46,000 per annum and is based on a van‑mobile basis covering Surrey and Merton.
My Client are a mechanical engineering who have been in operation for over 50 years providing mechanical engineering solutions to their diverse portfolio of clients.
X 2 Commercial Maintenance Electricians – Surrey and Merton Cover.
Contracts include: Civic Buildings, Wimbledon Tennis Club, Libraries, Community Centres, Fire Stations, Schools and Offices.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns.
- Install, test, and commission electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure electrical systems comply with UK regulations (e.g. BS7671 – IET Wiring Regulations).
- Respond to emergency call‑outs and unplanned maintenance issues.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level2 and3 Electrotechnical discipline.
- JIB Gold Card (AM2 or AM2E equivalency pass).
- Test and Inspect Qualification – 18th Edition.
- Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience.
- Live within a reasonable distance of Merton District / South London / Surrey East.
Package & Benefits
- £40k–46k per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications held.
- 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday. Travel time paid after 30 minutes each way.
- Fully expensed company van, fuel card and expenses.
- Call‑out rota: 1 in 7 weeks with a £200 retainer.
- Pension, 20 days holiday and plenty of overtime available.
