5-Axis Machinist

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced 5‑axis CNC machinist to join a high‑performance F1 team. This role is ideal for a skilled 5‑axis machinist to help craft the components that power the F1 race cars to victory. You will be working on cutting‑edge components in a fast‑paced, precision‑driven environment. The role is for a weekday shift, running from Tuesday to Friday 7.00 – 17.30, and is 100% based on site in Enstone, Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and program 5‑axis CNC machines using Heidenhain controls
• Machine complex components to tight tolerances
• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to produce precision parts
• Perform in‑process inspections and ensure components meet quality standards
• Collaborate with design and quality teams to resolve machining challenges
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with F1 standards

Requirements

• Proven experience as a 5‑axis CNC machinist, ideally in motorsport, aerospace, or high‑precision engineering
• Strong proficiency with Heidenhain software and control
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Flexibility to work shifts and meet tight deadlines

Desirable

• Previous experience in a Formula One or motorsport environment
• Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., HyperMill, Mastercam)
• Understanding of composite layup and tooling processes
