Role Description
The Electrical Panel Builder position is a full-time, on-site role based in Northampton. The role involves assembling electrical control panels from engineering drawings and wiring schedules, including mounting components, routing cables, and completing panel wiring to required standards. Day-to-day tasks include mechanical assembly of enclosures and fittings, using hand tools and power tools, and performing soldering where necessary to ensure reliable electrical connections. The Electrical Panel Builder will inspect and test completed panels, identify and resolve faults, and work closely with engineers and production colleagues to meet project deadlines and quality requirements. The role also includes maintaining a safe and orderly workspace and following all relevant health, safety, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong panel wiring and electrical assembly skills, with the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly, including mounting components and assembling enclosures using appropriate techniques.
- Confident use of hand tools and power tools in an electrical manufacturing environment, adhering to safety best practices.
- Experience with soldering for reliable electrical connections and small component work.
- Previous experience in electrical panel building, industrial control, or a similar manufacturing or engineering role.
- Basic understanding of electrical safety standards and good attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work on-site in Northampton, manage time effectively, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant technical training or qualification in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field is beneficial.
