Maintenance Electrician
Location: Princess Royal University Hospital, OrpingtonJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 8am – 4pmSalary: £40-45k per year, dependent on experience
Join Our Team
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a varied role involving both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance across a range of electrical building services.
Working independently and as part of a team, you’ll help ensure our facilities are maintained to the highest standards while delivering an excellent service to our customers. Must have experience in the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems up to 415V.
- Complete minor electrical installation works, including lighting and small power.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, job sheets, and service documentation.
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with current legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver a high-quality service.
- Support other trades and undertake additional duties as reasonably required by management.
What We’re Looking For
- Need to live within an hour’s travel from the hospital for call out purposes.
- Need to have an ECS gold card level 3.
- In‑date emergency first aid at work certificate.
- Experience in electrical maintenance within commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of electrical systems up to 415V.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive approach to health and safety.
- Flexibility to participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.
