We are a friendly team working towards improving dementia and delirium services within the hospital, in line with the national and local guidelines in dementia and delirium care. We are committed to promoting, delivering and implementing high standards of person‑centred care for people living with dementia and experiencing delirium.
Key Responsibilities
- Work autonomously, prioritise workload and use initiative to bring creativity to your role.
- Work alongside the MDT, including nursing staff and allied health professionals.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, promoting independence and well‑being, and support patients presenting with distress reactions.
- Use de‑escalation techniques and manage behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).
- Promote, deliver and implement high standards of person‑centred care for people living with dementia and experiencing delirium.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant prior experience of working with people living with dementia and/or experiencing delirium and their carers.
- Experience in behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).
- Excellent team‑working and communication skills.
- Passion and enthusiasm for the role.
Working Conditions and Relocation
- Some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently.
- If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed.
- Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute.
- Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
