Your Role

The Production Operative plays a vital hands‑on role within our beverage manufacturing site, ensuring that production lines run safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, this role is responsible for operating equipment, completing production tasks, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Production Operatives form the backbone of the shift team, contributing directly to smooth operations and consistent product output.

Key Responsibilities

Production Line Operation

  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently in line with training and procedures.
  • Carry out production tasks to meet daily output, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Monitor line performance and promptly report issues or abnormalities to the Shift Team Leader.
  • Complete required checks, measurements, and documentation accurately.

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining safe working practices.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards through regular checks and adherence to specifications.
  • Report any safety concerns, quality deviations, or equipment faults immediately.
  • Support site hygiene, food safety, and compliance requirements at all times.

Housekeeping & Equipment Care

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, supporting 5S and hygiene standards.
  • Assist with basic equipment cleaning and changeovers as required.
  • Handle materials, ingredients, and packaging safely and efficiently.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with other Operatives and support the Shift Team Leader in achieving shift goals.
  • Participate in effective shift handovers, sharing key information and updates.
  • Support new team members through buddying or informal training when required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by Senior Management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, efficiency, or team performance.
  • Take part in problem‑solving activities and improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in training and development to build skills and support team flexibility.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and operate a variety of equipment and processes.
