We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with autism at a welcoming primary school in the LS13 area of Leeds. This full-time role is available from September and offers ongoing work, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will provide tailored, consistent support to help the pupil access learning, develop social and communication skills, and feel confident within the classroom environment.
The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on SEND provision and pupil wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, structured, and supportive environment where all children are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with autism throughout the school day.
- Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and learning styles.
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff to implement support plans.
Pre‑requisites
- Experience supporting children with autism or SEND in a primary school setting.
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Confidence supporting pupils within a KS2 classroom environment.
