Special Needs Assistant
Salary: Scale 6, points 18‑20
Hours of work: Part Time 33.43 hours per week – Term Time Only
Contract term: Permanent

The Head teacher and Governors wish to appoint, as soon as possible, a scale 6 special needs SNA who is prepared to provide support for learners, teachers and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all. The role involves assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, encouraging learners to become independent, supporting their welfare, and fostering inclusion in all aspects of school life. The post will have a particular focus on supporting positive behaviour management within the school and will involve undertaking advanced positive handling training.
Successful Candidates Will
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the educational and emotional needs of pupils with diverse learning requirements.
- Possess excellent communication skills to establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
- Exhibit strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage individualised education plans effectively.
- Show flexibility, adaptability, and resilience when faced with challenges or changing circumstances.
