Class 1 & 2 Driver

Class 1 & 2 Driver (2565) Crewe, England

Salary: GBP18.96 – GBP19.27 per hour

Gi Group are recruiting Class 1 HGV Drivers to work for a well-known delivery company, based in Crewe. There are 2 shift patterners for night shifts available.

Nights 1 – Sunday to Wednesday = 4 Nights ( Start time either 21:00 or 23:00)

Nights 2 – Tuesday to Friday = 4 Nights ( Start time either 21:00 or 23:00)

Newly passed drivers are accepted.

HGV Driver responsibilities

• Conducting Vehicle checks
• Multi Drop/ bulk, collections and deliveries
• Securing loads
• Multi Drop delivery of palletised goods – depot to depot, 4‑5 drops, loading and unloading vehicle using tail lift & either a manual or electric pump truck
• Prioritising workload to ensure time commitments are met

HGV Driver required skills

• Enthusiastic, reliable, and punctual.
• Good attitude to work and learn new skills.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsement codes).
• Hold a valid, in‑date Tachograph & CPC.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English to adhere to health and safety requirements.
• Good understanding of Drivers hours, regulations, and working time directive.

Pay Rates

Please note that pay rates are PAYE and include advanced holiday pay.
