We are seeking a highly dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with complex needs at a welcoming primary school in the LS5 area of Leeds. This full‑time role begins in September 2026 and offers ongoing work, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will provide consistent, tailored support to help the pupil access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a structured, supportive environment.
The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on SEND provision and pupil wellbeing. Staff are committed to creating a nurturing, calm, and engaging learning environment where every child is supported to meet their individual potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with complex needs throughout the school day.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in classroom activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
Pre‑requisites
- Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs in a primary setting.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach with strong emotional resilience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Understanding of early years/KS1 development and individualized learning approaches.
