Introduction
As an Apprentice Dental Nurse, you’ll support clinicians to deliver a range of high-quality dental treatments and help the smooth running of your surgery and the practice. You will enjoy being part of a team that’s passionate about caring for patients and helping the nation smile. Alongside your role you will achieve a Level 3 in Dental Nursing.
What You’ll Do
- Reception: answering the phone and greeting patients
- Dealing with patient queries
- Taking payments
- Booking appointments and follow ups
- Sterilising and preparing equipment for dentists
- Recording and dealing with patient records
- Supporting patients’ wellbeing and dental experience
- Cleaning dental areas including chairs
- Managing stock of equipment and supplies
- Any other duties to support the dentists and senior team to provide effective patient care

- GCSE Maths – Grade 4 or above (Desired)

Training Outcome
With Mydentist-supported training and clinical development, you could advance into Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist roles, or specialise as an Orthodontic Therapist. Progression can lead to Senior Nurse, Lead Nurse or Practice Manager roles.
Working Arrangements
Working Week: Supporting opening hours are 9am–5pm. Candidates will need to be flexible to work within practice opening times and may include covering Saturdays and working a late night as required to meet practice needs. Expected Duration: 1 Year 6 Months.
