Driver

Our Distribution team are now looking for a van driver to support the Dispatch department in our Knightsbridge store. As a Harrods’ Dispatch driver, you’ll play a vital part in our Knightsbridge Dispatch team.

The role requires ensuring the prompt delivery of customer orders and proactively addressing any inquiries or concerns during these deliveries. The position works shifts between 8:00am and 9:00pm (subject to change in peak periods), 5 days out of 7 with regular weekend work on a weekly rotation.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided dispatch van to deliver and pick up goods to and from various locations.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes using GPS and company-provided technology to meet strict delivery deadlines.
• Load and unload the van carefully, ensuring all items are securely packed and organised to prevent damage during transit.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or damage immediately to management.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, including signing for packages and obtaining signatures from recipients.
• Communicate effectively with the dispatch team, customers, and other staff members to resolve any delivery issues or delays.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service during every interaction.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Keep the vehicle clean and organised, both inside and out.

Qualifications

• A valid UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a van driver, delivery driver, or a similar role.
• Familiarity with local streets, neighbourhoods, and routes in the London area.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy packages up to 25‑kg and to handle repetitive tasks.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
