Tree Health Surveyors – Acres Wild Woodlands Ltd working for the Forestry Commission

Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire also Derbyshire
Responsibilities
- Survey woodlands and individual trees to locate OPM nests on behalf of the Forestry Commission, enabling the pest to be controlled and the trees conserved.
- Work with a dedicated team of ecologists and woodland surveyors, many of whom have worked with us over several years.
- Potential work on various tree health surveys for the Forestry Commission, e.g. Spruce Bark Beetle (Ips Typographus) and Sweet Chestnut Blight, and help assess new urban tree planting.
Qualifications
- Physically fit, enjoy teamwork and be punctual and methodical in your approach to work.
- Provide own binoculars, GPS, smart phone and have a vehicle for work.
Benefits
Full paid training and £140 a day initially, increasing on subsequent surveys. Full mileage is paid. Full time Monday to Friday usually into September, with the possibility of extension, and typically have a winter survey starting again from mid January until mid April.
