About The Role

Leeds City College are recruiting for a Teacher of Computer Games and Digital T-Levels to join our Digital Arts department.

Our students learn skills across a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Game engines
  • 3D modelling
  • Game art
  • 2D graphics
  • Programming
  • Game design
  • 3D Animation
  • Stop Motion Animation

Creative Media and Digital Arts is a department of more than 600 learners and 30 staff members delivering Animation, Esports, Games Design and Development, Journalism, Media and TV&Film at our state‑of‑the‑art Quarry Hill Campus. We offer a varied curriculum in academic and technical skill areas to students aged 16‑19 at levels one, two and three, including T‑levels and Access to HE.

Our expert team of teachers and support staff develops students’ personal and employability skills, fostering independence and excellence in industry specialisms.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and deliver subject matter, creating lessons and teaching resources in line with the curriculum objectives.
  • Teach the principles and practical skills to help students pursue careers in digital and media industries.
  • Track individual student progress, assess work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a nurturing, positive environment for learners.

About You

  • Relevant, up-to-date knowledge of your subject specialism.
  • Qualified to degree level in Media Studies, Computer Games or a related discipline.
  • Holding, or working towards, a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to the development of the department.
  • Comfortable delivering to groups of young people.
  • Able to apply restorative practice in communications with students and colleagues, being proactive, flexible and supportive.
  • Experienced in ensuring courses meet college‑wide quality assurance policies and actively contributing to departmental success.
