Equans is looking for a Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Responsibilities mainly at the Mental Health Sites of Barberry, Oleaster & Zinnia, with potential extension to other areas on the contract as requested by Senior Management.
- Undertake any reasonable duties directed by TSM/Supervisor/Helpdesk to maintain all services to the NHS Trust, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed satisfactorily, accurately and promptly.
- Perform the complete range of Mechanical Craftsperson tasks as required or directed by management.
- Carry out all works in compliance with EQUANS KPI’s and contract.
- Have knowledge of water / mechanical systems within a healthcare environment and maintenance / testing activities.
- Have knowledge of Legionella and other water pathogens.
- Undertake temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and disinfection, tank visual inspections, TMV servicing, AHU servicing, and similar duties.
- Drive the company vehicle as required to meet the needs of the service.
- Participate in on‑call rota.

Who are you?
- NVQ or C&G Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing.
- Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training.
- Water Hygiene Training (desirable).
- Valid driving licence.
This role includes a DBS Standard check; therefore, the ability to pass is essential.
