What You’ll Do

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Assistant Accountant to join our small finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in accounting while gaining practical experience and working towards a recognised qualification. You will receive on‑job training, mentoring from experienced finance professionals, and dedicated time to complete your apprenticeship studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems
  • Support the preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Assist with processing supplier payments and customer receipts
  • Help prepare VAT returns and other financial reports
  • Maintain organised financial files and documentation
  • Support month‑end and year‑end accounting processes
  • Respond to finance‑related queries from colleagues and suppliers
  • Ensure confidentiality of financial information
  • Carry out general administrative duties within the finance department
