The Role
We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our central finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager. This is a varied and rewarding role within an evolving finance function, offering exposure across financial accounting, reporting, cash management and financial controls. You’ll play an important part in supporting the day-to-day finance operations while helping to ensure accurate reporting and efficient financial processes across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with monthly and year-end reporting activities across the business
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce analysis of key sections of the profit and loss account
- Support general ledger activities and provide assistance during audit processes
Cash Management & Transactions
- Prepare and analyse weekly Group cash flow forecasts using submissions from regional business units
- Process daily cash receipts and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
- Support weekly and ad-hoc payment runs through the banking system
- Help maintain strong financial controls across business transactions
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business
- Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors and client representatives to resolve queries
- Support the wider finance team in delivering high-quality financial information and services
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute positively to creating a continuous improvement culture within the finance team
- Take ownership of allocated month-end tasks and ensure completion in line with agreed deadlines
- Support ad-hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives as required
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will bring:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or accounting support role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience of reconciliations, transactional finance or financial reporting activities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
