Bank Support Worker – Adult Residential

About The Role

Swanton is looking for Bank Support Workers to cover day, evening, and night shifts in and around Murton. The role requires 24-hour, 7-day coverage with lone working and a rota that includes weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to enable people to live independent lives and pursue their goals.
• Support individuals in a person‑centred way, respecting their individuality and empowering them to make their own choices.
• Promote health, well‑being, and cultural and spiritual beliefs, facilitating social, educational or work activities such as family visits, walks, shopping, and other recreational pursuits.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties, including shopping and domestic tasks, and provide personal care support as required.
• Complete a range of records and documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Work on a shift rota that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and banked hours, and maintain responsible lone working practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working within complex care settings is essential.
• Enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to supporting people with dignity.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to complete written records.
• Ability to undertake relevant pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

About The Service

We are a residential care home located in the heart of Murton, County Durham, providing 24/7 support and care to 10 people with learning disabilities and/or autism. At Murton Grange we promote independence through a person‑centred approach, keeping in touch with relatives and valuing openness and honesty.

You will be required to undergo relevant pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
