Lunch-time Supervisor (with setting up)

Monday to Friday 11:30am – 1:30pm (term time only)
Purpose of the Role
As a valued member of our team, you will play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for children during the lunch period. Working under the direction of senior staff, you will help to ensure the wellbeing, safety and positive behaviour of pupils throughout the lunchtime break.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of Pupils
- Escort pupils to and from the dining hall
- Supervise pupils before, during and after lunchtime, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and appropriate behaviour at all times.
- Oversee the clearing away of meals and ensure pupils dispose of leftover food appropriately using the facilities provided.
- Supervise pupils with packed lunches and encourage them to leave dining areas clean and tidy, removing any litter or debris.
- Respond appropriately to accidents, illness or incidents by summoning assistance when required and administering basic first aid for minor injuries in accordance with school procedures.
Support for Pupils
- Encourage and promote good table manners and positive social interactions during mealtimes.
- Assist younger pupils with the use of cutlery and, where appropriate, help with the preparation of food to enable them to eat safely and independently.
- Support pupils in developing independence, confidence and good behaviour during the lunchtime period.
- Patrol playgrounds and designated outdoor areas, ensuring pupils remain within authorised areas and follow school expectations.
- Foster safe, inclusive and enjoyable play opportunities, encouraging positive relationships and respectful behaviour among pupils.
