Overview
Variable hours during daytime, evenings and weekends around your schedule, dependant on event times. You should be available in Bath from Friday 18 September 2026 to support Freshers’ Week. The Students’ Union are looking for an Events Assistant to host events and activities. The roles cover a broad range of events including Karaoke and Bingo nights in the Plug & Tub, Arts and Craft activities in The Edge and trips to tourist destinations. By joining our growing Events team, you will play a key part in supporting the Social Enterprise and Arts areas at Bath, build event management and communication skills, and receive training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Host activities and events based on the SU calendar.
- Support weekly arts and craft activities in The Edge (no crafting experience necessary).
- Support shows and performances in The Edge through ushering duties (when required).
- Host evening events in the Tub such as Karaoke and Bingo.
- Offer ideas and plan new events.
- Support promotional activities for the Plug & Tub, including flyering and managing stalls.
- Support SU flagship events such as Freshers Week and Snowball, checking tickets on the door.
- Support SU trips to local destinations such as Oxford or Stonehenge.
- Support pop‑up shops for the SU Shop (when required).
- Work with SU staff, bar staff and Edge events staff, ensuring clear communication and problem solving.
- Provide excellent customer service, checking attendance and tickets and dealing with any queries and problems.
- Manage event resources effectively, ensuring that each activity has the right equipment.

Pay & Hours
CW4 £15.53 per hour (including holiday pay).
