Responsibilities
- Ensuring the road worthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of vehicle allocated
- Complete daily pre‑use inspection check sheet for the vehicle and any specialised equipment needed as part of daily work
- Operate special BOC equipment such as a forklift truck or crane for loading and unloading vehicles when necessary
- Apply defensive driving techniques, knowledge of commercial driving regulations, and roads to ensure the safe transit and delivery of cylinders
- Deliver approximately 15‑20 gas cylinders per day to customers in the area
- Use safe cylinder manual handling techniques to deliver/collect cylinders to/from customers
- Adhere to strict Health & Safety operations
Qualifications
- Holding an HGV/LGV Cat C licence
- ADR (Class 2 in packages)
- Driver CPC required
- Knowledge of defensive driving and driver regulations, including HSA regulations
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers
- High level of personal integrity
- Held LGV entitlement for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes
