Introduction

Working within a workshop environment to build mechanical sub‑assemblies to exacting standards and tolerances for CNC machine building.

What You’ll Do

  • Participating in the completion of risk assessments
  • Using hand tools to build sub‑assemblies
  • Checking parts and inventory to quality standards
  • Measuring completed assemblies for compliance
  • Collaborating with designers to improve design and ‘makeability’ of product
  • Ensuring standards of housekeeping are maintained at all times
  • Meeting with international customers to showcase TEK4’s capabilities
  • Participating in Tool Box Talks
  • Training

Training Outcome

Move to on machine building to align machine 5 axis CNC machines to single micron tolerances and potentially move ahead to roles in design, controls or applications in the future.

Qualifications

Essential – GCSE – Maths and English – Grade 4-9

Course Information

Course: Engineering fitter (level 3) – Level: 3 – Route: Engineering and manufacturing – Apprenticeship Level: Advanced

Working Arrangements

Working Week: Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00, Friday 07:45 – 12:30. Expected Duration: 3 Years 6 Months. Number of Positions Available: 6. Training Provider: LEICESTER COLLEGE.
