We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join a leading consultancy with a focus on Environmental, Groundwater, and Geotechnical solutions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, interpret and manage complex groundwater, hydrogeological and environmental datasets to inform technical assessments and project delivery.
- Develop, calibrate and validate conceptual and numerical groundwater models to support environmental and engineering projects.
- Produce high‑quality technical reports, delivering clear, concise and well‑structured documentation for clients, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Lead and coordinate small project teams, overseeing task allocation, mentoring junior staff and ensuring robust quality assurance procedures.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, delivering work safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest technical standards.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to relevant environmental legislation, guidance and industry standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulatory bodies and multidisciplinary project teams through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Support business development initiatives through proposal preparation, tender submissions, client engagement and the development of long‑term relationships.
- Plan, undertake and supervise site investigations, groundwater monitoring programmes and fieldwork activities as required.
- Apply practical engineering judgement and a strong understanding of site‑specific constraints to develop effective, commercially viable and technically robust solutions.
Qualifications / Experience Required
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience within a groundwater engineering or hydrogeological consultancy environment.
- Strong technical expertise in groundwater data analysis, interpretation and conceptual and numerical groundwater modelling.
- Demonstrable experience managing technical projects and coordinating small multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent technical report writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Confident engaging with clients, regulatory authorities and multidisciplinary project teams at all levels.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proactive and solution‑focused, with strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Chartered status, or working towards professional accreditation with a recognised institution, would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence desirable to support site visits and field‑based activities.
Remuneration
Salary up to £60,000 (depending on experience) with additional benefits including flexible core working hours, salary‑sacrifice car schemes, medical cover and hybrid working.
