Responsibilities

  • Produce meeting agendas with the chair(s) of governors and the headteacher for the Full Governing Board and other meetings such as hearings and appeals.
  • Write minutes of the Full Governing Board meetings and other governing bodies.
  • Serve as an important source of advice for governors on governance matters (training will be provided).
  • Support the Chair or co‑chairs of governors, the Headteacher and the Governing Board in the exercise of their governance responsibilities, ensuring compliance with statutory and other requirements and the delivery of agreed governance policies.
  • Work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings (usually six Full Governing Board meetings per year).
  • Work independently and meet deadlines.

Salary and Benefits

Payment is Scale 7 point 19-24 £16.62‑£18.35 per hour. Actual salary is based on an average of six hours per meeting for six meetings per year plus holiday pay, amounting to £670‑£740 per annum. Further or additional hours, if and when required, will be paid at the same rate.
