Location: Hybrid, with minimum one day a week in our Hampton Wick office.

Hours: Full time (35 hours).

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and organised Governance & Compliance Officer to join our Corporate Services team. This role is central to supporting the delivery of effective governance, regulatory compliance and insurance activities across Hastoe.

Working closely with the Governance & Compliance Manager, you will help ensure the organisation continues to meet its legal and regulatory obligations, coordinate key governance processes, and support a strong culture of compliance across the business.

Duties will include:

  • Delivering the Group’s internal compliance monitoring programme and maintaining compliance registers.
  • Coordinating Subject Access Requests and supporting wider protection compliance activities.
  • Monitoring internal audit recommendations and policy review programmes, reporting on progress and escalating overdue actions.
  • Supporting Board and committee governance processes, including statutory filings, governance administration and the preparation of meeting papers.
  • Leading the day-to-day coordination of insurance claims and supporting the annual insurance renewal process.

About you

You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working across a varied workload and building positive relationships with colleagues at all levels.

You will be confident interpreting processes and procedures, managing competing priorities and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.

You will ideally have a broad understanding of governance, compliance, data protection and insurance activities, together with a genuine interest in maintaining high standards of corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

You will also need:

  • A-Level educated or equivalent. GCSEs (or equivalent) must include a Grade C or above in both English and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in governance, compliance, audit, risk, insurance or similar administrative role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to produce accurate reports and maintain confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and confidence to work independently when required.

Annual Leave: Starting at 25 days, plus bank holidays 1.5 days complimentary leave, along with the option to purchase additional leave.

Enhanced Pension: Hastoe’s employer contributions start at 5% and are based on matching of your own contribution level, plus 2%, up to a maximum of 8% employer contribution.
