With a focus on the manufacturing workshop, you will spend time learning about the engineering and supporting processes in the TransDev business while acquiring machining, manual and administrative skills that are in demand in today’s workplace. After successfully completing the Engineering Apprenticeship you will achieve a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship.

Main Duties and Areas of Training

  • CNC mills and lathe operation
  • Semi‑manual and manual lathes and mill operation
  • Finishing skills and methods
  • Specialist machinery operations
  • Job management and planning
  • Health & safety
  • Quality control and best practice
  • Material and part handling / storage / management
  • Machine set‑up, fault diagnosis and maintenance

About You

Profile

We typically look for individuals who enjoy both practical and academic work. You may have an aptitude for and/or an interest in engineering and want to begin your engineering journey. You will have already shown a desire to see how things are engineered, whether through repairing cars or bikes, or through a general interest in engineering.

Personal Qualities

Maths and English A*/9‑C/4 GCSE (or equivalent), plus an additional three GCSEs including science, all at least grade C/4 (or equivalent).

Future Prospects

Successful completion of the Apprenticeship is the first step on a career at TransDev, with machining roles and related department roles a possibility.
