Business Systems Analyst

Location: UK-wide, Hybrid (including Bristol, Westminster, Warrington, Devonport, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Leicester, Rosyth, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy)

Role: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working arrangements with days on site and days working from home.

You will play a vital role as a Business Systems Analyst across our main UK locations, enabling the digital backbone of our engineering capability by analysing, developing, maintaining and supporting engineering software applications that underpin critical programmes.

The role

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Support the analysis, design and configuration of engineering software applications
  • Deliver application improvements, minor changes and project‑based enhancements
  • Provide second‑ and third‑line support to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements
  • Ensure applications align with defined strategies, roadmaps and architecture

Essential experience

  • Experience managing and maintaining IT or business system solutions
  • Understanding of engineering or technical software environments
  • Basic knowledge of one or more of the following: Computer Aided Design, Product Lifecycle Management, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Design Analysis, or Integrated Logistic Support
  • Experience working within a structured IT or digital delivery environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Qualifications

  • IT or engineering related degree or equivalent qualification

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions at Babcock are subject to national security clearance and trade control restrictions, which may affect eligibility based on place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency held.
