We are excited to announce a permanent opening for a Software Engineer at our state‑of‑the‑art facility in Severn Beach, Bristol. This role involves active participation in the software development lifecycle, providing support for OIPT software to internal teams and external clients across international projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain cutting‑edge software, firmware, and databases using a variety of tools and languages.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely delivery that meets objectives and timelines.
  • Assist with machine issues during build and test phases.
  • Provide second‑line support for the worldwide network of field service engineers.
  • Engage with the global customer base to understand needs and support new software implementations.
  • Support sales by answering technical questions and providing solutions.

Education/Experience

  • Degree in computing or a related field with a proven track record.
  • Minimum two years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with C# .NET Core and WPF framework.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ for low‑level and real‑time development.

Desirable

  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, Modbus, etc.
  • Experience with PLCs and ladder logic.
  • Agile/Scrum methodology familiarity.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience scripting with PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and other AI forms.

Professional Skills/Abilities

  • Strong communication and client‑facing skills, articulating complex topics to multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to independently drive technical investigations and solutions.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Windows software and real‑time control systems.
  • Hardware interfacing knowledge is desirable.
  • Computer literacy, including effective use of MS Office suite.
