Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a successful, employee‑owned company for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically strong engineer looking to take the lead on a variety of challenging projects across multiple sectors, while playing a key role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued success of the business.
Working Hours
Shift: 9am‑5pm Mon‑Fri, Flexible working hours.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead on projects of varying size and complexity.
- Prepare structural design calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
- Coordinate designs with technicians and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Attend client meetings and undertake structural surveys.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and other stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Review and check engineering designs, calculations and drawings.
- Supervise and mentor Graduate Engineers within the team.
- Assist with commercial and project management activities.
- Ensure compliance with current design standards and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status (MICE/MIStructE) or nearing Chartership.
- Minimum 5 years’ post‑graduate experience within a structural engineering background.
- Experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber structures.
- Good knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards.
- Proficiency with Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS.
- Good understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
