Electrical Bias Engineer

At Spire Alexandra Hospital, our Engineering team plays a vital role in supporting safe, high‑quality patient care. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Estates team and help keep our hospital environment running smoothly, safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and hospital infrastructure.
• Perform electrical testing, fault finding and minor installations.
• Support essential hospital systems, including electrical infrastructure, ventilation and water services.
• Work alongside specialist contractors and ensure compliance with HTM guidance.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑4 on‑call rota.
• Help drive continuous improvement across the hospital estate.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Background in healthcare buildings maintenance with an electrical bias.
• Knowledge of UPS, IPS, 3‑phase and single‑phase circuits, motors, inverters, generators and switch rooms.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of HTM‑06 requirements and holding LV Competent Person or LV Authorised Person status with an 18th edition certificate.
