Join Boccard UK and Build Your Engineering CareerBoccard UK is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Apprentice Production Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Deeside fabrication facility.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has already completed engineering qualifications and is looking to apply their knowledge in a real manufacturing environment while continuing their apprenticeship development.
You will work alongside experienced engineers, production supervisors, quality specialists and project teams to help improve manufacturing processes, increase productivity and support the fabrication of structural steel and pipework components for major projects within highly regulated industries.
About the Opportunity
We are specifically seeking candidates who have already completed:
- BTEC Level 3 Award in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
- City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
- City & Guilds Level 2 Digital Literacy and Employability Skills
Successful applicants will join the apprenticeship programme in Year 2, attending college (Coleg Cambria) on a day-release basis every Thursday from September 2026, while spending the remainder of the week gaining practical experience and completing a Level 3 NVQ within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Production Engineer, you will:
- Learn from experienced engineers and gain a detailed understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Collect and analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Support investigations into production issues, fabrication challenges and drawing discrepancies.
- Assist with troubleshooting production, quality and process-related issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality and productivity.
- Maintain accurate production records using Boccard’s digital production management system, Boctrack.
- Develop skills in engineering software and CAD systems.
- Work closely with Production, QA/QC, Engineering and Project Management teams in the UK and Colombia.
- Support Boccard’s commitment to delivering projects On Time, On Spec and On Budget.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable
- Experience using AutoCAD or other CAD software.
- Previous experience within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry.
