Role Overview

You will lead the mechanical design of energy projects, producing detailed engineering documentation and supporting the delivery of Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Tri Generation, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) installations from concept through commissioning and operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate specifications, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and functional and technical design documents.
  • Oversee mechanical system design and conduct safety assessments.
  • Perform pipe and pump sizing calculations.
  • Coordinate CAD design activities to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Liaise with project managers, suppliers, and clients.
  • Assist with project budgeting and cost‑effective design delivery.
  • Manage supplier performance and sign off in line with project quality plans.
  • Provide on-site technical support, including layout surveys and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Competent Mechanical Engineer with experience in power generation, pipework and ventilation design, CDM, and health & safety.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in technical management and development of energy projects.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and experience using AutoCAD 3D or equivalent.
  • Minimum qualification of HNC/D or degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, focused on power generation.
  • Full, valid driving licence.

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; Friday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
