Tardis Environmental UK Ltd is a well‑established portable toilet and tanker hire business operating a large fleet of HGV and LGV vehicles across multiple locations throughout the UK. We provide temporary waste and water solutions ranging from 1,000 ltr waste and water storage tanks up to 30,000 ltr storage tanks. We are proud members of FORS and hold Gold accreditation.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to help drive a strong safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company‑wide H&S policies and processes are implemented and carried out across the business.
  • Ensure that all agreed actions are completed within deadlines as dictated by the business.
  • Carry out site inspections and review the effectiveness of the H&S management system, identifying areas of improvement as and when required.
  • Carry out accident or near‑miss/hazards investigations, producing supporting documentation and corrective action plans including recommendation of possible disciplinary action.
  • Manage the company safety rules and near‑miss/Hazard reporting, promoting SHEQ initiatives, ensuring, reviewing, auditing, providing feedback, and closing agreed actions.
  • Identify the training needs of employees, deliver training as required, including risk assessing and safe systems of work.
  • Monitor and report on services provided by external contractors.
  • Maintain and update all reporting data, carrying out regular checks to ensure compliance for all RAMS, SSOW, TBT, etc.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as PQQs, log accidents and update RAMS.

Competence and Qualifications (Essential)

  • General NEBOSH certification with experience in managing several sites across the UK.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating ISO Management Systems.
  • Practical experience carrying out health, safety, environmental and quality audits and inspections to date.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present concepts to audiences at all levels.

Other Information

  • Salary: £45,000 per annum.
  • Hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday (with a degree of flexibility to suit the business).
