Salary: £75,000 – 85,000 per year
Requirements
- Experience in solution architecture with a clear focus on e-commerce platforms or API/middleware ecosystems
- Expert-level knowledge of Node.js, Java (Spring Boot), and PostgreSQL, including the ability to read and critique vendor code
- Deep proficiency in API management patterns, webhook integrations, and event-driven architecture using Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
- Demonstrable experience migrating legacy monolithic systems into containerised microservices architectures
- Proficiency in Visio or LucidChart for architectural modelling
- Disciplined use of Confluence for documentation practices
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for DTS, EPOS, and other strategic workstreams
- Conduct structured audits of vendor-submitted code and architecture
- Enforce our Stable-by-Design framework so external deliverables meet our internal quality, security, and scalability thresholds
- Orchestrate complex data mapping between legacy IBM iSeries (DB2/RPG) systems and modern API middleware
- Lead deep-dive investigations into recurring platform failures, error surges, latency anomalies, and data inconsistencies
- Deliver long-term structural remediation rather than tactical fixes
- Maintain high-quality architecture documentation in Confluence
- Ensure designs are versioned, accessible, and transferable to operational teams
