Legal Counsel – Construction Lawyer

Responsibilities

• help lead on a variety of legal matters
• work with both the water business and Severn Trent group companies on a wide range of construction projects
• support the capital programme with day-to-day delivery
• responsible for ensuring that the contracts with our supply chain balance the pace of required delivery
• assist in contract delivery of approximately £1.5bn to £1.9bn of project value each year
• engage regularly with our key supply chain partners
• help position Severn Trent to deliver a complex portfolio of hundreds of concurrent projects
• ensure customers’ needs are at the heart of all advice and decisions

Requirements

• demonstrable non-contentious construction legal experience
• beneficial to have experience gained from working on contentious construction matters and/or regulated procurement
• strong leadership skills
• collaborative partnering approach to working with business colleagues
• understanding of the business and ability to deliver its strategic objectives
• character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too
