Head of Data Engineering

Overview

Urgent contract requirement for a senior Data Engineering leader to support a Microsoft Fabric data platform programme. This is an initial 6 month contract role for someone who can bring structure, technical standards and delivery discipline to a data engineering function. This will suit someone who can get close enough to the technical detail to challenge quality and unblock delivery, while also bringing leadership, structure and accountability to the team.

Requirements

• Strong data engineering leadership experience
• Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Synapse, Databricks or similar platform background
• Ability to assess and raise technical standards
• Experience leading permanent and contractor engineering teams
• Strong delivery focus across pipelines, lakehouse / warehouse, data quality and reporting out
• Comfortable operating in a high-scrutiny programme environment
• Able to start at short notice
