Mechanical Lead – Data Centre Projects | Europe

Salter Grange is recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering contractor delivering some of Europe’s largest hyperscale data centre projects.

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Lead to take ownership of the mechanical package from installation through commissioning and handover on major mission-critical developments.

Mechanical Lead Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical delivery on large-scale Data Centre projects.
• Manage the installation of HVAC, pipework, plant rooms and mechanical building services.
• Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors and site teams.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants and Commissioning teams.
• Drive programme, quality and project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and QA/QC standards.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and project handover.
• Produce progress reports and maintain site documentation.

Mechanical Lead Requirements

• Experience as a Mechanical Lead, Mechanical Construction Manager or similar.
• Proven background delivering mechanical building services on large construction projects.
• Previous experience on Data Centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or other technically complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical services installation and commissioning.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel and work on projects across Europe.
• Relevant mechanical or engineering qualification preferred.
