Propulsion Development

  • Co-lead the technical development of Agnia’s dual-mode electrospray propulsion system alongside the Founder & CEO.
  • Refine and mature the existing propulsion architecture into a manufacturable and testable engineering design.
  • Support the design and optimisation of emitter arrays, extraction systems, propellant delivery systems and high-voltage interfaces.
  • Develop and validate analytical models describing thrust generation, beam dynamics and propulsion performance.
  • Contribute to propulsion trade studies, design optimisation and technical decision-making.
  • Define subsystem requirements, interfaces and performance budgets.

Simulation & Analysis

  • Lead and support propulsion modelling and simulation activities to validate design assumptions.
  • Develop first-principles analytical models and engineering simulations.
  • Evaluate different architectures, materials and operating strategies through simulation and engineering analysis.
  • Interpret simulation and experimental data to guide design improvements.

Prototype Development & Testing

  • Contribute to the development strategy for Agnia’s first propulsion prototype.
  • Support the design of engineering models, breadboards and laboratory test hardware.
  • Develop testing methodologies, validation plans and performance metrics.
  • Analyse experimental results and support continuous design refinement.
  • Contribute to reliability, lifetime and failure investigations.

Technical Leadership

  • Challenge assumptions, identify technical risks and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Support patent generation, technical publications and grant applications.
  • Help establish engineering processes, technical documentation and best practices.
  • Mentor future engineers as Agnia’s technical team expands.

Technical Expertise We Are Looking For

You do not need to match every point, but you should bring deep expertise in several of the following:

  • Electrospray, colloid, field-emission, plasma or other electric-propulsion technologies.
  • Electrohydrodynamics, charged-particle physics and high-electric-field phenomena.
  • Thruster performance modelling and first-principles analytical methods.
  • Vacuum-chamber testing and electric-propulsion diagnostics.
  • Faraday probes, retarding-potential analysers, time-of-flight diagnostics, beam-current measurement or thrust balances.
  • High-voltage engineering, insulation, arcing, breakdown and spacecraft charging.
  • Microfabrication, MEMS, porous emitters, capillary emitters or precision manufacturing.
  • Multiphysics simulation using tools such as COMSOL, MATLAB, Python, Simulink or equivalent.
  • CFD, particle tracing, electrostatic-field modelling or thermal analysis.
  • Design for manufacture, assembly and test of space hardware.
  • Failure investigation, root-cause analysis and reliability improvement.
  • ECSS, NASA or comparable spacecraft-development standards.

What Agnia Offers

Joining Agnia Aerospace means more than joining a startup—it means becoming one of the earliest technical leaders shaping the future of spacecraft propulsion.

As a founding engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Play a defining role in developing a next-generation dual-mode electrospray propulsion system from architecture through prototype, validation, and future flight qualification.
  • Influence the technical direction of the company by contributing to key engineering decisions, technology strategy, and long-term product development.
  • Work with significant technical ownership, where your ideas, expertise, and decisions will directly shape the evolution of our propulsion platform.
  • Receive meaningful founding equity, aligning your long-term success with the growth and impact of the company.
  • Collaborate with international partners, accelerators, investors, and leading organisations across the global space ecosystem as Agnia expands internationally.
  • Contribute to patents, technical publications, grant-funded research, and future flight programmes, helping build technologies with lasting impact.
  • Help establish Agnia’s engineering culture, technical standards, and future propulsion team from the earliest stages.
  • Grow into a senior technical leadership position, with the opportunity to shape not only the technology but the organisation itself as the company scales.

At Agnia, we value intellectual curiosity, technical excellence, integrity, and the courage to solve problems that have never been solved before. We believe the best engineering comes from challenging assumptions, thinking independently, and building solutions with purpose.

If you’re looking for a role where your contribution will extend far beyond a single subsystem—and where your work has the potential to influence the future of space mobility—we would love to hear from you.
