Senior Grid Delivery Manager, AWS (To be based in London, Dublin, Madrid or Frankfurt)

This role can be based in any of the following AWS office locations: London, Frankfurt, Madrid or Dublin.

The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) seeks a results‑orientated individual for the Grid Delivery Manager role. The candidate will deliver large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects across EMEA within tight deadlines, coordinating with design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real‑estate teams. They will manage stakeholder relationships, provide weekly risk and issue reports to senior leadership, and drive program standardization, tool development and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
  • Possess high‑level technical understanding of HV/MV infrastructure, including substations, cables and overhead lines.
  • Manage cross‑functional teams and communicate with diverse stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide weekly reporting on key project risks and issues to senior management, director, and vice‑president level.
  • Drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for execution, and support financial budgeting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering HV/MV infrastructure projects from design to energization.
  • Experience managing or working on power substations with utilities and understanding of their regulatory environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to navigate ambiguity in an agile environment.
  • Experience forming and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience analyzing cost/benefit trade‑offs across a strategic portfolio and managing international teams (plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in data centers or other critical infrastructure.
  • Fluent spoken, written and reading proficiency in French, Spanish, German or Italian.
  • Master’s degree (MBA/MS) and/or PMP certification.
  • Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
  • Experience working with utilities and energy regulators.
