Graduate Project Engineer — Salary £28,000–£31,000, Dorset

We are a leading aerospace company, multinational but with a 100+ headcount SME feel.

Are you a graduate mechanical engineer, graduate aerospace engineer or similar who wants to manage mechanical engineering projects in the aerospace sector? Are you ambitious, self‑starter who wants to progress into a lead engineer or even a chartered engineer?

Your Background as a Graduate Project Engineer

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Some practical engineering experience through a placement, internship, university project or previous role would be advantageous.
• A hands‑on, proactive individual with strong problem‑solving skills and a genuine interest in developing within engineering.
• Good communication skills with the confidence to work collaboratively with internal teams, customers and suppliers.
• Ambitious and eager to build a long‑term career within project and product engineering.

Graduate Project Engineer Responsibilities

• Support Lead Engineers in delivering new product development and engineering projects.
• Assist with 3D CAD modelling, engineering drawings, testing, analysis and technical documentation.
• Support prototype builds, product trials and validation activities.
• Contribute to engineering investigations, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality aerospace products.
• Develop both technical engineering and project management skills through structured training and hands‑on experience.

Job location: Based near Beaminster, commutable from Beaminster, Bridport, Axminster, Yeovil, Weymouth, Honiton.
