As a Team Manager within Children’s Social Care, you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring children, young people and families receive high-quality support, protection and intervention services. You will lead and develop a team of social workers and practitioners, promoting excellent practice, professional development and positive outcomes for children.
About the role
- Lead, manage and support a team of social workers and children’s practitioners to deliver high-quality services to children and families.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance and direction to staff, promoting accountability, continuous learning and excellent social work practice.
- Oversee complex and high-risk cases, ensuring robust assessment, planning and intervention to safeguard children and achieve positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated and effective support for children and families.
- Monitor team performance, analyse data and drive service improvement to ensure statutory responsibilities and performance targets are achieved.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and service improvements across Children’s Social Care.
- Manage resources and budgets responsibly, ensuring value for money while meeting the needs of children and families.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and passionate social work professional who is committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and families. You will be a confident leader with the ability to motivate, develop and support others while maintaining high standards of professional practice.
- A recognised social work qualification, professional registration and a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Significant experience of working within statutory children’s social care, including complex casework, safeguarding and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance and child protection procedures.
- The ability to provide clear professional guidance, make informed decisions and lead effective interventions for children and families.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and partnership-working skills.
- The ability to analyse information, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement within a service.
- A commitment to supporting and developing colleagues while championing high-quality social work practice.
