Job Overview
Exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to lead the SWAN end-of-life and Bereavement service. The role combines clinical practice, leadership, family support, education and service development based on dignity, compassion, personalisation, family inclusion and creating meaningful experiences after death at a senior strategic leadership level.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Trust-wide SWAN service strategy, managing and developing specialist nursing teams.
- Influence policy and organisational standards; contribute to governance groups.
- Lead audits, service evaluations and quality improvement programmes.
- Represent the Trust in regional or city-wide meetings.
- Develop partnerships with external agencies, exercising a high degree of autonomy and visibility across hospital sites and external organisations.
- Develop bereavement support pathways across services and improve culturally sensitive and inclusive care.
- Work with charities, faith groups and community organisations to strengthen public engagement around bereavement support.
- Ensure compassionate experiences for families during highly traumatic circumstances.
