Are you a dedicated and experienced leader looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people? We are seeking a Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee and manage a residential home for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager who is passionate about providing high-quality care and ensuring that young people have the support they need to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be fully accountable for the home’s day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015. You will lead and manage a team, ensuring that all staff provide a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment where children and young people can develop both emotionally and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Home Management & Compliance – Ensure the home operates within Ofsted registration requirements, maintaining a minimum ‘Good’ rating in inspections.
- Safeguarding & Child Protection – Ensure all children and young people are protected from harm and that safeguarding policies are implemented effectively.
- Childcare & Development – Provide a warm, nurturing, and structured environment, promoting positive emotional and social development.
- Regulatory & Legal Responsibilities – Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
- Performance & Quality Assurance – Monitor and develop best childcare practices, ensuring high standards of care are met.Multi‑Agency Working – Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, including social services, education providers, and healthcare professionals.
- Staff Leadership & Development – Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team, ensuring all staff are supported and developed to provide exceptional care.
- Financial & Resource Management – Oversee budgeting and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of funding to maximise outcomes for young people.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- At least 2 years of experience managing a residential children’s home with young people with EBD or complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and safeguarding procedures.
- A proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team of staff.
- Excellent communication and multi‑agency collaboration skills.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
