About the Role
Commissioning Engineer within the Cross Functional Delivery Team at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater. Initially hybrid, moving to full time on site.
Location: Bridgwater, UK (satellite office)
Salary: Approximately £65,000, dependent on experience.
Grade: B.
Opportunity
Support safe and successful commissioning of Hinkley Point C. Work with multidisciplinary teams across Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C), HVAC, Mechanical and Process Engineering strands.
Assist in resolving technical issues, reviewing commissioning results, ensuring activities meet safety and quality requirements, and contributing to the transition from construction to operation.
Who You Are
Strong technical knowledge with a collaborative approach; passion for delivering safe, high‑quality engineering outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, I&C, HVAC, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
- Experience supporting design, commissioning, maintenance and/or operational activities, preferably in the nuclear industry.
- Experience managing or coordinating multiple technical activities concurrently.
- Strong technical writing skills – producing engineering reports and documentation.
- Clear communication of complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
You will stand out if you also have:
- Experience on large, complex infrastructure or highly regulated projects.
- Knowledge of commissioning processes within the nuclear sector.
- Experience supporting cross‑functional engineering teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support commissioning delivery teams by resolving technical queries and addressing open points.
- Review and verify commissioning test results in line with delegated authority requirements.
- Assess non‑conforming results and recommend actions to support safe and effective commissioning.
- Perform technical analysis of commissioning activities and prepare phase reports.
- Update procedures, share operational learning, and support training within the Technical Analysis Team.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to enable successful commissioning.
