Band I SCP 44-47 (£55,609 – £59,027 per annum)

Position Overview

We are recruiting for an exceptional HR Business Partner who is passionate, committed and dedicated to improving the lives of children & young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be part of the senior HR management team, working with the Head of HR and wider HR Team to introduce, take ownership for and deliver wide ranging strategic projects.
  • Provide employee guidance and support to management across all levels of the organisation and be the subject matter expert and HR lead for all ER cases – absence, grievance, disciplinary and performance management.
  • Ensure harmonious industrial relationships with our Trade Unions.
  • Coach, mentor and directly line manage members of the HR Team to support the achievement of the Trust’s objectives and individual’s growth and development.
  • Bring fresh eyes and creativity to HR processes and practices to enhance colleague engagement and our retention rate.
  • Make a difference to the lives of children and young people in Sandwell.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A senior HR professional with a background of working in a complex public sector environment, CIPD qualified and educated to relevant degree standard or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of pragmatic organisational change and ability to work in a fast‑paced organisation.
  • Excellent generalist HR knowledge, including in‑depth knowledge of HR practices and legislation, employment law and best practice.
  • Experience of managing complex ER matters including employment tribunals.
  • Previous project management experience, able to manage own time effectively and to work to defined deadlines.
  • Strong line managerial experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and be accountable for driving outcomes.
  • Articulate communication style, with the ability to engage confidentially with all levels across the business and deliver complex communications transparently and effectively.
